Meet Amity
L'Amitié is Amity in french and means “friendship”

The Dream Begins
I have always wanted to own my own café/bistro as long as I can remember. It wasn't a straight path for me to realize this dream rather an array of stepping stones along the way. Initially, I followed a more traditional path of pursuing a career in the medical field specifically as a doctor because I had a passion for helping others.
The Journey
I went on to pursue my degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. And as serendipity would have it, I met my husband in Chemistry lab. We married 4 years later after he graduated with a Business degree and I followed shortly thereafter with a degree in Biology. It wasn't long after that when we started our family. I started small with a cottage bakery out of my home when my children were little. It afforded me the opportunity to be at home with them while raising them but also allowed me to flex my creative muscle in the kitchen lab with baking.
Finding Our Home
On weekends when I wasn't baking, we often found ourselves in Denton with the family where we would attend Mean Green football and basketball games! We are huge Mean Green fans!! So when our sweet daughter decided to pursue her college education at UNT, we were over the moon! We couldn't think of a better place to open up a small business for the first time and we are so glad to call Denton the home not only for L'Amitié but for us.
